Philex Mining Corp., led by businessman Manuel V. Pangilinan, announced that it expects to sustain operations at its Padcal mine in Benguet for the remainder of the year, according to a report by Philstar Biz. The forecast comes after the completion of rehabilitation works at the facility.

The Padcal mine, one of the country’s oldest copper-gold operations, underwent rehabilitation to address safety and operational efficiency. The company did not disclose specific production targets but expressed confidence in maintaining output levels through the end of 2026.

Philex Mining’s sustained operations are seen to support local employment and contribute to the mining sector's recovery. The company continues to explore other projects while focusing on responsible mining practices at Padcal.
