A survey commissioned by insurance technology firm bolttech reveals a significant gap between perceived and actual digital hygiene among Filipinos, as reported by Philstar Biz.
According to the survey, an overwhelming majority of respondents rated their online habits as good. However, fewer than half actually practice essential measures such as using strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, or regularly updating software to protect themselves against cybercrime.
The findings highlight a disconnect between confidence and action, suggesting that many Filipinos may be overestimating their digital hygiene. bolttech, which commissioned the study, emphasizes the need for greater awareness and adoption of basic cybersecurity practices nationwide.
