The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced the opening of the 67.25-meter Pawa-Bogtong Bridge in Legazpi City. Public Works Secretary Vivencio B. Dizon, in a statement reported by BusinessWorld, said the bridge fulfills the President’s commitment to fund unfinished agency projects and will provide significant relief to local commuters.

The bridge is expected to improve connectivity between barangays Pawa and Bogtong, easing traffic congestion and reducing travel time for residents and businesses in the area. The DPWH has prioritized completing infrastructure projects that boost economic activity and enhance mobility across Bicol region.

For this year, the DPWH continues to roll out road and bridge projects under its regular infrastructure program, with an emphasis on finishing pending works. The department aims to deliver more completed structures in line with national development goals.
