RCBC and Visa have partnered to introduce contactless tap-to-pay payments at LRT-2 stations, allowing commuters to pay fares using their contactless cards or mobile wallets, as reported by YugaTech.

The service enables passengers to simply tap their Visa contactless card or any NFC-enabled device at the turnstiles, eliminating the need for physical tickets or cash. This rollout aims to speed up entry and reduce queues at stations, enhancing the overall commuting experience.

The initiative reflects the growing adoption of digital payments in the Philippines' public transport sector. As contactless technology becomes more widespread, similar integrations are expected across other rail lines and transport systems, potentially improving convenience and security for millions of daily commuters.
