Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Eli Remolona Jr. has asked for the reappointment of Monetary Board members Walter Wassmer and Jose Querubin, whose terms are set to end on July 2, according to a report by Philstar Biz.

Wassmer and Querubin are among the seven members of the Monetary Board, which sets the country's monetary policy and oversees the banking system. Their reappointment would ensure continuity in the board's composition as the BSP navigates inflation and economic growth.

The reappointment requires approval by the Office of the President. If confirmed, the new terms would allow both officials to continue shaping monetary policy amid global economic uncertainties.
