The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) said lower regulatory fees and other incentives are helping micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) reduce costs and free up capital for business expansion. The corporate regulator shared the update during the “Juan with SEC Caravan: Oportunidad Para sa Pag-Asenso ng Negosyo” event, according to a report by BusinessWorld.

The SEC said the reduced fees form part of broader efforts to ease compliance costs and encourage more MSMEs to formalize their operations. The “Juan with SEC Caravan” is designed to bring the agency’s services and programs closer to businesses, especially those outside Metro Manila, helping them access registration, filing, and other corporate services with less financial burden.

MSMEs make up the vast majority of businesses in the Philippines and are key contributors to employment. The SEC’s fee reductions are part of a broader government push to lower the cost of doing business and encourage more enterprises to register and formalize their operations.
