The Department of Transportation (DoTr) said the P58.42-billion South Luzon Expressway Toll Road 4 (SLEX TR4) is set to start partial operations by December, as reported by BusinessWorld.
Transportation Acting Secretary Giovanni Z. Lopez said in a statement on Wednesday that construction is on track, with packages A and C expected to open before the end of the year. Package A covers the section from Sto. Tomas, Batangas to Alaminos, Laguna, while Package C runs from San Pablo City to Tiaong, Quezon.
The project aims to decongest the existing SLEX and provide faster access to Southern Luzon provinces. Once fully completed, the 66.8-kilometer toll road will extend from Sto. Tomas, Batangas to Lucena City, Quezon.
