PLDT Inc., through its wireless unit Smart Communications, has completed a live demonstration with technology partner Nokia Corp. aimed at improving outbound data roaming services for its subscribers, as reported by BusinessWorld.
In a statement on Wednesday, Smart said the trial demonstrated how roaming traffic from subscribers traveling in Europe could be routed locally using Nokia’s technology. This approach aims to enhance the quality and reliability of data services for Filipino travelers abroad.
The successful trial marks a step forward for Smart in optimizing its international roaming capabilities, potentially reducing latency and improving user experience for its customers overseas.
