Major mall operators are set to restore regular operating hours across Metro Manila this month even as the national energy emergency declared in March remains in effect, according to a report by BusinessWorld.

The retail units of Ayala Land, Inc., SM Prime Holdings, Inc., and Robinsons Land Corp. announced they will resume normal mall schedules while continuing to participate in government-led energy conservation efforts. The malls had earlier shortened hours as part of measures to reduce power consumption.

The decision reflects a balancing act between restoring consumer convenience and supporting the government's call for energy efficiency. The national energy emergency remains in place, prompting retailers to retain some energy-saving practices even as operations normalize.
