Sony has announced plans to gradually shut down the PlayStation Store for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, according to a report from YugaTech.

The closure will be implemented in stages, with the PS3 storefront shutting down first on July 2, 2021. The PS Vita store will follow on August 27, 2021. After these dates, users will no longer be able to purchase digital games, DLC, or other content for these platforms.

The move affects millions of gamers who still use these legacy systems, though previously purchased content will remain accessible for download. Sony encourages users to redeem any remaining wallet funds before the shutdowns take effect.
