Nearly two years into Brian Niccol’s turnaround, Starbucks is winning back customers by restoring the experience that made its name, according to Inside Retail Asia.
The back-to-basics plan focuses on operational fundamentals such as faster service, consistent store layouts, and a renewed emphasis on the in-store experience. These measures are meant to address long-standing customer complaints while sharpening Starbucks’ competitive edge in the crowded coffee market.
The strategy appears to be paying off, with the company reporting profitable results for the fiscal 2026 third quarter. As Niccol’s second year at the helm progresses, the improvement in customer experience is increasingly showing up in the coffee chain’s financial performance.
