Philippine shares edged higher on Thursday, halting a two-day slump, as bargain hunters picked up cheap issues despite lingering geopolitical concerns, BusinessWorld reported.

The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) rose by 15.27 points, or 0.24%, to close at 6,283.12. The broader all shares index also gained, adding 5.72 points, or 0.16%, to end at 3,456.78.

Trading activity remained robust as investors took advantage of lower prices after the market’s recent decline, with net foreign buying recorded at ₱234 million.
