The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said the investment by Singapore data center firm ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) is expected to support domestic supply chains and create high-paying technical jobs, BusinessWorld reported.

STT GDC’s expansion is strengthened by its local partnership with Ayala Corp. and Globe, according to the DTI. The agency said the project goes beyond building essential digital infrastructure, directly stimulating economic activity across related industries.

The investment is seen to elevate job quality by generating demand for skilled technical roles, while also reinforcing the Philippines’ position as a growing data center hub in the region. Industry context suggests such projects typically bolster construction, logistics, and IT services, benefiting local supply chains.
