Visa announced it will bring Apple Pay to its cardholders in the Philippines, enabling contactless payments using iPhone and Apple Watch, according to a report by ABS-CBN.
The integration allows Visa credit, debit, and prepaid card users to add their cards to the Apple Wallet app. Once configured, they can tap to pay at participating merchants, with transactions secured through Face ID or Touch ID authentication and device-specific payment tokens.
The move expands mobile payment options in the Philippines, where digital transactions are growing. Apple Pay uses a secure element and tokenization so card numbers are not stored on the device or shared with merchants, and Visa expects the feature to increase convenience for Filipino consumers.
