The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has energized two residential retail aggregation groups under its program, as reported by the Philippine News Agency.
The two groups, composed of residential electricity consumers, will now be able to collectively negotiate power supply agreements and potentially secure lower rates. This development is expected to enhance consumer choice and competition in the retail electricity market.
The ERC program, known as Residential Retail Aggregation, aims to empower households by allowing them to band together and participate in the retail electricity market, which was previously limited to larger commercial and industrial users.
