The Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) will provide at least 200,000 employment opportunities nationwide beginning June 1, in support of the Department of Education’s (DepEd) nationwide school maintenance program, Brigada Eskwela, BusinessWorld reported.

In a radio interview, Labor Secretary Francis N. Tolentino announced the job openings, which are part of the government’s efforts to help schools prepare for the upcoming school year. The positions will range from cleaning and repair to administrative tasks, providing temporary income for workers while aiding the education sector.

The initiative aligns with the annual Brigada Eskwela program, which mobilizes community volunteers to clean and maintain public schools before classes begin. DoLE’s employment assistance aims to supplement this effort with formal job opportunities, offering a livelihood boost to thousands of Filipinos.
