A global study by insurance firm AXA and market research company Ipsos has found that 72 percent of Filipino youth report feelings of loneliness and sadness, with technology and digitalization cited as key factors, BusinessWorld reported.
The study highlights that stress among the youth is no longer appearing as a single challenge but as a cumulative burden. AXA Philippines President and Chief Executive Officer noted that the findings underscore the need for mental health support as digital engagement rises.
The results come amid growing concerns over the impact of increased screen time and social media on young people’s well-being. The study surveyed thousands of youth globally, with the Philippine data reflecting a broader trend of declining mental health among adolescents.
