The Department of Education (DepEd) announced on Tuesday that 79 local government units have started constructing school facilities to address the nationwide classroom deficit, as reported by BusinessWorld. Education Secretary Edgardo “Sonny” M. Angara said in a news release that the collaboration with local governments will accelerate construction.

The classroom shortage has been a long-standing issue in the Philippines, with the government aiming to build more classrooms through partnerships with local governments to expedite the process.

This initiative is part of the government's efforts to improve educational infrastructure, with the goal of providing adequate learning spaces for students nationwide.
