The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) will launch a new educational assistance initiative for children of active GSIS members pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) courses, BusinessWorld reported.
Called the GSIS Subsidy for STEM Program, the initiative is open to children of active GSIS members with permanent employment status and Salary Grade 15 and below. To be launched this month, the program aims to support students in STEM fields, which are critical to national development.
The subsidy is expected to ease the financial burden on government employees and encourage more students to pursue careers in science and technology. Further details on the application process and subsidy amounts are to be announced by GSIS.
