The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is projecting $30 billion worth of investments over the next seven years in its National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Infrastructure Master Plan, according to a report by BusinessWorld.

Information and Communications Technology Secretary Henry Rhoel R. Aguda said the government is focusing on private-sector investments this year, especially for digital infrastructure including AI and hyperscalers. The master plan outlines the country's strategy to build AI-ready infrastructure, attract foreign capital, and position the Philippines as a regional hub for AI development.

The initiative comes as the Philippines seeks to accelerate digital transformation and compete with neighboring economies in AI adoption. The DICT has yet to release the full details of the master plan, but the $30 billion target signals a significant ramp-up in infrastructure spending over the medium term.
