Ayala Malls will open its newest development, Gatewalk, in Mandaue City this December, with Swedish furniture giant IKEA occupying the anchor space for its first store in the Visayas, according to a report by Cebu Daily News.
The three-level mall spans approximately 27,000 square meters of gross leasable area and will feature a mix of retail, dining, and lifestyle offerings. The IKEA store is expected to draw shoppers from across the Visayas region, offering the brand's full range of home furnishings and accessories.
The development is part of Ayala Land's continued expansion in the Visayas and is seen to boost economic activity in Mandaue City. Other tenants have yet to be announced, but the mall is positioned as a major retail destination for the region.
