The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) said it will address concerns over the Philippines’ participation in the Washington-led Pax Silica initiative. In a report by BusinessWorld, BCDA President and Chief Executive Officer Joshua M. Bingcang told reporters on Thursday, “We assure that we will address all the concerns of all stakeholders.”
Pax Silica is described as a Washington-led initiative focused on securing global semiconductor supply chains. The Philippines’ participation has drawn questions from stakeholders about the country’s role and the initiative’s implications, prompting the BCDA to issue the assurance.
Bingcang made the remarks on the sidelines of an event on Thursday but did not provide further details on the specific concerns raised or a timeline for addressing them.
