Berjaya Food has exited its Paris Baguette Malaysia joint venture as part of a strategic shift to strengthen its core operations, according to a report by Inside Retail Asia.
The divestment, details of which were not disclosed, aligns with Berjaya Food's broader strategy to streamline its portfolio and concentrate on its core food and beverage brands. The company operates popular chains in Malaysia including Starbucks and Kenny Rogers Roasters.
Paris Baguette, a South Korean bakery and café chain, entered Malaysia through a joint venture with Berjaya Food in 2021. The exit marks a notable shift in Berjaya Food's regional expansion plans as it refocuses on its home market and established brands.
