The Bureau of Customs (BoC) has announced a partnership with the Department of Justice (DoJ) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to enhance the investigation and prosecution of large-scale smuggling operations, according to a report by BusinessWorld .

In a statement released on May 31, the BoC said the collaboration aims to strengthen joint investigations and build robust cases against the so-called "big-time" smuggling bosses. The move is part of a broader effort to dismantle organized smuggling networks that undermine local industries and government revenue collection.

The three agencies will coordinate intelligence-sharing and legal expertise to ensure that masterminds behind smuggling activities are held accountable. The BoC emphasized that targeting the financial and logistical backers of smuggling syndicates is a key priority in the ongoing campaign against illicit trade.
