The Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Industry Employees’ Network (BIEN) will seek a P1,200 minimum daily wage for entry-level workers in Central Visayas and other key BPO hubs, citing rising living costs. Mylene Cabalona, BIEN Philippines president, said the group is preparing a petition for the region, as reported by BusinessWorld.

The petition aims to address the gap between current wages and the cost of living in urban BPO centers. Cabalona noted that many entry-level workers struggle to afford basic necessities despite the industry’s growth.

BIEN previously filed a similar petition in other regions. The group intends to push for a uniform wage floor across major BPO hubs to ensure fair compensation for workers.
