The British Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines has expressed support for the drafting of the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) for the expanded pork import quota, as reported by Philstar Biz .
Under the executive order, the quota allocates 30,000 metric tons for processors and 120,000 metric tons for the Food Terminal Inc., also known as the Kadiwa ng Pangulo Program. The IRR is expected to provide clarity on the implementation and distribution of the expanded quota.
The British Chamber's welcome of the IRR drafting signals continued engagement with Philippine agricultural trade policies, which aim to stabilize pork supply and prices in the domestic market.
