Century Pacific Food, Inc. (CNPF) said its General Santos (GenSan) operations are nearing normal levels more than three weeks after a major earthquake disrupted production, as the company restored facilities and replaced damaged raw materials, according to BusinessWorld.
During a media briefing on Tuesday, CNPF Executive Chairman Christopher T. Po said the company resumed operations within a week of the earthquake and has been working to replace damaged raw materials and restore facilities. The plant’s recovery is critical to CNPF’s supply chain, as GenSan is a key hub for its canned tuna and other protein products.
The company expects the plant to return to full production capacity in the coming weeks, ensuring minimal disruption to its market supply. CNPF’s swift response highlights its operational resilience amid natural disasters, a common challenge for Philippine food manufacturers reliant on coastal and seismic-prone regions.
