The Department of Transportation (DoTr) announced that a key right-of-way (RoW) issue along the alignment of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) Cavite Extension has been resolved, clearing the path for continued construction. Acting Secretary Giovanni Z. Lopez confirmed the development, stating that the RoW hurdle had been addressed.

The LRT-1 Cavite Extension is an 11.7-kilometer railway project that will connect the existing LRT-1 line from Baclaran to Cavite, with stations in Parañaque, Las Piñas, and Bacoor. Once completed, the extension is expected to significantly reduce travel time and ease congestion in the Metro Manila-Cavite corridor.

The resolution of the RoW issue is a major step forward for the project, which has faced delays due to land acquisition challenges. The DoTr said construction can now proceed on affected sections, bringing the extension closer to its target completion date.
