The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) announced a partnership with UL Solutions to elevate domestic product certification standards to international levels, according to a report by BusinessWorld.
The DTI’s Bureau of Philippine Standards (BPS) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with UL Solutions to enhance standards and technical information exchange, expand testing capabilities, and align Philippine certification processes with global best practices. The agreement aims to improve product safety and quality for both local consumers and export markets.
This collaboration is expected to streamline certification procedures for Philippine manufacturers, reduce trade barriers, and boost confidence in locally made products. UL Solutions, a global safety science leader, will provide technical expertise and training to BPS personnel.
