The Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECoP) has expressed support for the expansion of benefit packages for members of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth), in a statement reported by BusinessWorld.
In its statement, ECoP urged PhilHealth to provide additional and differentiated benefits to direct contributors. The employers’ group also called on the state health insurer to remove the 24-hour confinement rule, which they argued limits access to certain benefits.
The call comes amid ongoing discussions on expanding PhilHealth coverage to improve healthcare access for Filipino workers. ECoP’s backing signals employer support for reforms that could reduce out-of-pocket expenses for employees.
