The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has urged Philippine exporters to consider bundling their shipments to the European Union as a workaround to new duties and compliance requirements for e-commerce shipments, BusinessWorld reported.

Barcodes Philippines said that bundling shipments requires proper carton-level identification, and its ITF-14 barcode packages help exporters comply with EU logistics standards.

The EU has implemented stricter regulations on low-value e-commerce imports, including new customs duties and traceability standards, which could increase costs for individual shipments. Bundling shipments into larger consignments may help exporters reduce per-unit costs and simplify compliance.

The DTI advised exporters to assess the impact of these measures on pricing, logistics, and customs procedures. The agency also recommended exploring partnerships with logistics providers to optimize shipment consolidation and maintain competitiveness in the European market.
