The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is pushing for the adoption of artificial intelligence to boost the productivity of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the country, according to a report by YugaTech.
The DTI’s National AI Strategy Roadmap 2.0 serves as the primary vehicle for this initiative, aiming to integrate AI technologies into MSME operations to enhance efficiency, competitiveness, and innovation. The roadmap outlines key strategies including capacity-building programs, infrastructure development, and partnerships with the private sector.
With MSMEs comprising over 99% of registered businesses in the Philippines, the government sees AI as a critical tool to help them scale and adapt to digital transformation. The initiative also aligns with broader national goals of fostering a tech-driven economy and creating more resilient enterprises.
