The Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) Philippines pushed for stronger school safety and support systems on Wednesday, following a stabbing incident in Cavite involving students. In a statement reported by BusinessWorld, ACT Chairperson Ruby Bernardo emphasized that "schools must be places where children feel safe and protected at all times."

Bernardo called for adequate personnel, including guidance counselors and security staff, as well as proper student intervention programs to prevent such incidents. The group stressed that violence in schools reflects deeper societal issues that require comprehensive solutions beyond temporary measures.

ACT urged the Department of Education and local government units to conduct immediate assessments of school security protocols and to strengthen child protection committees. The group also called for counseling services for affected students and teachers, noting that the psychological impact of school violence can hinder the learning environment.
