A youth group on Monday called for the full disclosure of Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio’s confidential funds, saying the opening of her impeachment trial should also mark the start of efforts to hold her accountable for her alleged misuse of public money, BusinessWorld reported.

In a statement, Kabataan Party-list Vice-President for Visayas Florence Guzon alleged that hundreds of millions of pesos in confidential funds were spent without proper documentation, questioning the legality of the disbursements. The group urged the Senate to compel the Vice President to present complete records and receipts during the trial.

The youth group argued that public accountability demands transparency in the use of confidential funds, especially given the large sums involved. They called on the Commission on Audit to assist in verifying the expenses.
