BusinessWorld reported that about 1,700 members of the Iglesia ni Cristo gathered at Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila on Thursday after the Quezon City government revoked the group’s permit to continue its rally near the EDSA People Power Monument.

The Quezon City government cited traffic disruption and public safety concerns in revoking the permit, prompting the relocation of the rally to Manila’s Liwasang Bonifacio.

The shift follows the revocation of the permit for the original rally site, which had been near the EDSA People Power Monument. The new venue in Manila allowed the gathering to proceed.
