Instagram has rolled out a new feature that allows creators to add unique captions to individual slides within a carousel post, as reported by YugaTech. The update addresses a long-standing request from users who wanted more flexibility in storytelling across multiple images or videos.
Previously, carousel posts required a single caption for all slides, forcing creators to either limit text or rely on the first slide to convey context. With Multiple Captions, each slide can now have its own description, making it easier to provide step-by-step tutorials, showcase product details, or tell a sequential story without confusing followers.
The feature is available globally on both iOS and Android. Creators can access it by uploading a carousel as usual, then tapping each slide to edit its caption separately. This update aligns with Instagram’s efforts to enhance creator tools and compete with platforms like TikTok that offer more granular post customization.
