The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) announced on Tuesday that eligible transport network vehicle service (TNVS) operators no longer need to apply for renewal of their certificates of public convenience (CPCs). In an advisory reported by BusinessWorld, qualifying franchises will be automatically converted into authority to operate certificates (ATOCs) under an existing circular.
The policy applies to TNVS operators whose franchises meet the conditions outlined in the LTFRB’s circular. The automatic conversion aims to streamline regulatory processes and reduce administrative burdens on operators, ensuring continuity of service without the need for manual renewal applications.
The LTFRB advised eligible operators to verify their status and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The move is expected to benefit ride-hailing services and their drivers across the country, simplifying franchise management while maintaining safety and service standards.
