Philippine businesses are increasingly embracing artificial intelligence as a growth and innovation tool, with a majority expressing optimism about its adoption and investing in cloud infrastructure, according to a survey commissioned by BusinessWorld on Wednesday. The AI Business Application Readiness and Accessibility Survey from Alibaba Cloud found that 91% of Philippine enterprises hold a positive outlook on AI adoption.
The survey highlights that cloud infrastructure is a key enabler for AI deployment, with many companies already increasing their cloud spending. Alibaba Cloud, a unit of Alibaba Group, noted that Philippine firms are leveraging AI for customer service, data analytics, and operational efficiency, reflecting a shift toward digital transformation across sectors.
Despite the optimism, challenges remain in terms of skills gaps and integration costs. The survey suggests that targeted training and partnerships with technology providers will be crucial to fully realizing AI's potential in the Philippine market.
