POWER DISTRIBUTOR Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) said it is open to working with regulators and stakeholders on measures that could help ease electricity costs, following rising public concern over higher bills, BusinessWorld reported.

The company’s statement comes amid growing public frustration over electricity rates, which have been subject to periodic adjustments due to fuel costs and other factors. Consumer groups have called for temporary relief or subsidy mechanisms to lower the burden on households and businesses.

"Meralco remains open to constructive discussions and is willing to work with government, regulators, lawmakers and stakeholders on measures that are fair, transparent, and sustainable," the utility said, reaffirming its commitment to balancing cost recovery with consumer affordability.
