Mitsukoshi BGC, the Philippine outlet of Japanese department store chain Mitsukoshi, is marking its third anniversary with a series of Tanabata-inspired festivities, according to PeopleAsia. The celebration is being held at the store in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
Tanabata, also known as the Star Festival, is a traditional Japanese event in which people write wishes on colorful strips of paper called tanzaku and hang them on bamboo branches. The anniversary event at Mitsukoshi BGC is set to feature similar interactive activities, giving customers a chance to take part in the cultural custom while browsing retail promotions and special displays.
Since opening three years ago, Mitsukoshi BGC has positioned itself as a destination for Japanese goods and dining in the metro. The festivities, which align with the Tanabata season around July 7, are expected to draw both loyal patrons and new visitors looking to experience the store’s offerings during its anniversary period.
