President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. proclaimed economic zones in Cavite and Batangas and a new information technology (IT) park in Negros Oriental, the Palace announced. According to a report by BusinessWorld, the proclamations designate additional land for existing industrial parks and formalize the creation of a new center for technology services.

The expansions in Region IV-A (Calabarzon) aim to boost industrial growth, while the IT park in Negros Oriental is expected to support the country's digital services sector. The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) confirmed the proclamations, which are part of the government's efforts to decentralize economic development.

These developments signal continued investment in infrastructure outside Metro Manila, aligning with the administration's push for regional growth. The ecozone expansions and new IT park are anticipated to generate jobs and attract business process outsourcing firms to the Visayas.
