The Philippine Science High School System (PSHSS) announced on Monday that it will open a campus in the Negros Island Region (NIR) by 2027, with two more campuses to follow by 2028, expanding access to the country's premier science high school. BusinessWorld reported that PSHSS Executive Director Ronnalee N. Orteza said several areas were considered for the new campuses.

The NIR campus is part of a broader effort to decentralize the PSHSS network and provide more opportunities for gifted students across the Philippines. Orteza did not specify the exact locations of the planned campuses but confirmed that the agency is working on securing sites and funding.

Once completed, the three new campuses will bring the total number of PSHSS campuses to 20, helping to address the high demand for science and technology education in the country. The expansion aligns with the government's push to strengthen STEM education and produce more scientists and innovators.
