Philippine companies still lack cybersecurity strategies to protect their businesses as they increase their adoption of artificial intelligence (AI), according to a report by BusinessWorld citing global AI and cybersecurity firm Palo Alto Networks.
Bernadette L. Nacario, country director of Palo Alto Networks, noted that while many organizations are eager to explore AI, they often overlook the accompanying security risks. The firm warns that without robust cybersecurity frameworks, companies expose themselves to data breaches, ransomware, and other threats that could undermine AI-driven operations.
Experts recommend that businesses integrate security into their AI strategies from the outset, including regular risk assessments, employee training, and deployment of advanced threat detection tools. The findings highlight a critical gap in the Philippines' digital transformation journey, where technology adoption outpaces security preparedness.
