The Philippines and the United States are finalizing a draft framework agreement for the proposed artificial intelligence (AI)-native hub under the Pax Silica initiative, according to a BusinessWorld report. The two countries target signing the pact by November.
Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) President and Chief Executive Officer Joshua M. Bingcang confirmed the development, stating that the draft arrangement is being finalized. The Pax Silica initiative aims to establish an AI-native hub that could boost the country's digital infrastructure and attract foreign investment.
The framework is expected to outline cooperation areas such as data center development, AI research, and talent training. If signed, the agreement would mark a significant step in Philippines-US technology partnership, positioning the country as a regional AI hub.
