The Social Security System (SSS) will launch an energy sustainability loan program for residential solar panel installation by the end of the year, according to a report by BusinessWorld. The loan offers up to P400,000 in credit to an initial 100,000 households.

SSS President Robert Joseph M. de Claro said the proposed Energy Sustainability Loan will initially cover 100,000 households. The program is designed to help members finance the installation of solar panels, reducing their electricity costs and promoting renewable energy adoption.

The initiative aligns with the government's push for sustainable energy and could lower household expenses amid rising power rates. Further details on loan terms and application process are expected upon rollout.
