The Philippine Stock Exchange index rebounded on Thursday as investors went bargain hunting after two straight days of losses, according to Philstar Biz.
Trading activity was driven by selective buying of oversold stocks, with the main index closing 1.2% higher at 6,450.20. Gainers outnumbered losers 112 to 74, while net foreign buying reached P1.2 billion.
Analysts attributed the recovery to improving market sentiment amid expectations of easing inflation and steady corporate earnings. However, they cautioned that the rally may be short-lived if global headwinds persist.
