According to a report by Philstar Biz , the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) placed the Visayas grid under yellow alert on May 31 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. due to thin power reserves.
A yellow alert indicates that the grid's operating margin is insufficient to meet the required contingency reserve. NGCP urged the public to conserve energy during the period to prevent further strain on the system.
The Visayas region has experienced tight supply in recent months due to maintenance shutdowns and increased demand. Consumers are advised to monitor updates from NGCP for any changes in grid status.
