Listed poultry integrator Vitarich Corp. (VITA) expanded its board to 10 directors after shareholders approved an amendment to the company’s articles of incorporation during its annual stockholders’ meeting, where they also elected Isabella Victoria M. Sarmiento to the enlarged board, according to BusinessWorld.

During the meeting, the company outlined its long-term strategy, which it said will focus on operational efficiency. The move comes as Vitarich seeks to strengthen its position in the competitive poultry industry, where margins are often squeezed by rising feed costs and fluctuating demand.

The board expansion and strategic shift signal the company’s commitment to improving governance and streamlining operations. Vitarich, one of the Philippines’ oldest agribusiness firms, continues to adapt to market challenges as it aims for sustainable growth in the years ahead.
