Consumers in the Asia-Pacific region are ahead of their global counterparts in both digital platform use and awareness of cybercrimes, according to a survey by global cybersecurity firm Kaspersky. BusinessWorld reported that the B2C Pulse Survey by Kaspersky Market Intelligence found 80% of Asia-Pacific consumers shop online, compared with 71% globally.
The survey also indicated that consumers in the region show higher awareness of cybercrime threats than their peers in other markets. Kaspersky said the findings reflect the region's rapid digital adoption, which has been accompanied by a growing recognition of online risks such as phishing, identity theft, and payment fraud.
As Asia-Pacific leads in digital engagement, the results underscore the need for both consumers and businesses to prioritize cybersecurity measures. Kaspersky's research highlights the importance of staying vigilant in an increasingly connected environment, where digital convenience must be balanced with robust protection against evolving cyber threats.
