The Bureau of Customs (BoC) said its revenue target has been increased by approximately P7 billion following the latest Development Budget Coordination Committee (DBCC) meeting, according to a report by BusinessWorld .
BoC Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno disclosed the adjustment during a forum organized by the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, stating that the DBCC considered collection efficiencies, inflation, and other factors in setting the new target. Malacañang also confirmed the revised revenue goal.
The increased target reflects the government's efforts to boost revenue collection amid economic challenges, with customs duties serving as a key component of national funding for infrastructure and social programs.
